Welcome to our new blog!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWelcome to Andrew Maier’s blog. We created it in part to (proudly!) announce our inclusion in Traditional Home magazine’s “10 NewTrad Designers to Watch in 2013,” (http://www.traditionalhome.com/tradhomespring2013/ page 182) and also our participation in the One Kings Lane Tastemaker Tag Sale that launches this Sunday, August 25!

The other reason is to showcase some of the beautiful items we have in our shop. We’re located in the picturesque village of Locust Valley, New York, and although we cherish its bucolic, small-town pace, we’d love for more of the world to see some of the unique pieces we have acquired lately.

The chairs above are an “almost pair” of vintage slipper chairs, newly upholstered in a large-scale print that looks hand painted, with a pop of green piping. These chairs actually look happy! They are $4400 the pair.

Pair of exquisitely carved wood mirrors, in the original old gilt. Details include moving “bells” in the pagoda top. Nicely done. Each approx. 32 by 51 inches.  $4500 the pair.

Handmade iron door knocker in worn, black paint. Made from a horse shoe and a railroad spike! $65.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA vintage-find coffee table of carved wood resembling bamboo. Caned top under glass.  53″ wide by 24 by 17.5 high. $300.

Mid century lamp, made from a natural driftwood root. The original rust-colored shade is oval in shape and supported by a hand-wrought brass stem. Approx. 24″ wide by 18 deep by 32 high including shade. $525.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAdorable primitive toy boat. The wear and colors of the old paint are particularly nice. 12″ long. $85.

SOLD Early 20th century document desk. Hinged desk top opens to reveal contents of one wide front drawer. Refinished walnut color. This desk would make a great end table because of its proportions. 39″ wide by 33 by 29 high. $1200.

Rise and shine! A completely original, working alarm clock made by the Lord Baltimore company. $95.

An old nautical chart showing the North Fork of Long Island fashioned into a vintage folk art tray with roping and brass cleat handles. Completely charming. 19.5″ by 15 by 2. $175.
